It's that time of year when everything is growing again so let's talk field guides.

I have a few but greatly prefer regional field guides for their ease of use and smaller size. Here are three that I really like and carry most often:

4 3/8" x 6"
Field Guides Trees-of-Michigan_lg

Wild Berries and Fruits Field Guide of MN, WI and MI
By Teresa Monroe
ISBN: 978-1-59193-224-6
280 Pages
4 3/8" x 6"
Field Guides Wild_berries_mi_mn_wi

Scats and Tracks of the Great Lakes
By James C. Halfpenny
ISBN: 978-0-7627-4231-8

4 1/4" x 7"
Field Guides 9780762742318

So, what are you all using?

Those look good. I need to get some. Does the berry and fruit one inclued poisonous plants as well? How are the pictures in them? I like color pictures but seem to only find books with sketches in them.

The pics are full color and excellent. The book is divided by fruit color and the listings are "delicious", "edible", "not edible" and "toxic". Good descriptions with key features in highlighted text, lots of good info on each plant.

I used it on Saturday to ID partridge berry... here is that sample page:
