Match stick fire... Empty Match stick fire...

Post by CJS Knives (Captain Jeff) Tue Jun 05, 2012 11:40 pm

i got off work early today, and decided to do some fishing.. after a while of not getting a bite, i decided to practice my fire making skills. in my fishing kit i have a lighter and a box of matches. i decided to challenge myself and just use the matches.

long story short, it took me about 12 matches to get a good blaze! a little embarassing, but i did learn a lot, and know more for the next one. in my defense i had a couple matches blow out on me before i could get them to the bundle. i will keep practicing and get it down to one match eventually.

Fire starting can often be humbling. Good on you for taking the opportunity to get some practice in!
